Up for vote: Resolution Withdrawing Proposed Moratorium (Local Law #7 of 2025)

Privilege of the Floor: 20 minutes total, limit of 3 minutes per person

No TeraWulf Presentation.

Why No TeraWulf Presentation?

We called the Town Clerk’s Office and were told that TeraWulf wanted to present when the public hearing was planned. Now that the public hearing is cancelled, TeraWulf is no longer interested in presenting.

TeraWulf has allegedly been requesting privilege to speak at Town Board meetings for weeks.

Why the change of heart now that they finally have the opportunity to speak? We were not told what TeraWulf’s presentation would have entailed. We presume it may have been another anti-moratorium presentation with claims of it being unlawful and unfair to them, similar their Open House on 10/29.

What now?

We have a feeling that the moratorium will likely get withdrawn. It’s the Town Board’s second vote on this, and TeraWulf has been relentless with FOIL requests, letters from lawyers, and slanderous posts on their Facebook page. The town may fear a lawsuit enough to table the moratorium entirely.

Still show up wearing red to the meeting!

No matter what, we still want to oppose TeraWulf and their scare tactics, as well as support the moratorium. TeraWulf’s bullying and threats to the local government are unacceptable. We should not let an out-of-state corporation influence our local news outlets and elected officials for their own profits.

Speak at the Privilege of the Floor.

Make your voice heard, raise your concerns. Arrive early to ensure you can sign up.
